Title: Bacon from frozen pork
Post by: Muc on January 24, 2013, 06:48:05 pm
Could anyone advise me if it is safe to thaw out a joint of pork and make it into bacon. I presume that when it is thawed, it is just the same as fresh meat - but you can't be too sure.

Absolutely!  MAK on here posted some details in a post I wrote about a big (old!) spare joint.

We've made bacon and ham from previously frozen pork with no problems. Stick to sensible food safety practices and it'll be fine.
