Title: Horse slaughter
Post by: Daisys Mum on January 19, 2013, 10:55:32 am: My god I feel sick , I have just watched the slaughter of horses in a licenced British slaughter house on Sky news. 3 animals in a slaughter pen, regaining conciousness while being strung up and the senseless beating.
How can this happen in this country?

Time there was CCTV in all slaughter houses. But where was the vet that's supposed to be on duty?

If we took livestock to the abattior in that state they would probably reject them and yet these bedraggled, thin and terrified animals meat is destined for the European market - I wonder how many people ordering a horse steak would eat it after watching the film?
I don't have a problem with horses being eaten as long as they are killed with as little stress as possible - just like any other animal

How can people be so cruel?
