Title: Date for 2013?
Post by: Ina on January 09, 2013, 08:29:54 am
I'm sure I read somewhere the proposed date for the show this year - can't find it now, of course. (Some members of my family are planning to visit in September, and I know they'd enjoy this show...)

Thank you very much!

Shame it's a Saturday, though.

You can't please all of the people all of the time  :D   A Saturday will be best for most I would think, especially those bringing children.   I'm not bothered either way but I'm really looking forward to going this year, as it's just up the road from me

I think more people work on Saturdays than Sundays. I could only go last year because it was on a Sunday... And every other blimming event is on a Saturday already.

But you never know, I might be "lucky" and not even have my Saturday job any more later this year!  ::) In which case I won't go either, because then I won't have the money.

Nevermind. As you say, you can't please everybody.

We couldn't get the venue on a Sunday.

We couldn't get the venue on a Sunday.

Thanks for trying - but as said before, there'll always be somebody who can't come, so I'm not complaining! (Not really, honestly! :D ) Anyway, now I know it well in advance, if I still do have the job I can try and take a day's holiday... Some of my family are coming to visit in September, too, and I'm trying to persuade them that this is a must-do event! My niece has done a year's wwoofing (in Ireland, mostly with goats), she's had sheep, goats and poultry of her own, she'd absolutely love it...

You're lucky you got it on a Saturday :innocent: - loads of dog shows held there nowadays - very popular - great place.

I just asked for the 2013 show to be added to the list of UK Fibre Events on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/uk-fibre-and-yarn-events/1997414) as other September events were getting added to the calendar...

Maybe time to make a start on updating the website for this year's show...?

Will be there  :excited: ! Probably showing pigs  :pig: :pig:  or Portlands  :sheep: :sheep: , but happy to help with the setting up too. Will we be able to get the animals unloaded the evening before, again?

Yup, think that should be fine Cath

And hopefully we'll be organised enough to do some pre-show partying this year  ;) :excited:

I will be able to come with the goats the night before too, as long as we can also stay there again, kipping in the van. So can help to set up too...
