Savannah is dried off. I have some frozen for soap making but we are having to...BUY (yuk!!) supermarket goats milk for the children. (Because my business is soap made 'using our own goats milk' I have to do what it says on the tin obviously but next year I intend to freeze loads more instead of worrying about storage and pouring it away >:( )
Do you think the awful rain/floods/cloudy days have dried yours off quicker than normal maybe?

Mine milk better when they can get outside and graze - which hasn't been possible lately so I wonder if that's it?

It's lack of greenery and day light. Mine go down in NOvember, and hopefully will increase again in February. My (not very heavy milking) GG is on 1.2ltrs per day, the BT on just under 3ltrs. With one other BT still milking, but she's in kid, we have enough. But no pigs to take any surplus, so am making cheese every other day... :)

Ours are used to being in and infact when we put them out they head back in at the first chance they get.
Light wise we have lights and a radio on from 7am untill 7pm
Greenery is a problem because during the growing season we are out branching every day no matter what the weather , they do get fresh fruit and veg every day but they do miss the leaves
We are really going to struggle as we do tend to use a hugh amount of milk between us :-\

I'm getting two and a half pints a day from my girl but TBH that's not much less than she was giving in what was laughingly called summer. She does have one side with some damage so not much from that. It's plenty for us anyway and I can still freeze the occasional bottle or give it to my relief milkers.

Our Daisy dropped off a while back but planning putting her in kid again. :fc: Froze milk during the summer which I use for soapmaking
