Title: Pour on price comparision - may be helpful
Post by: shrekfeet on June 10, 2009, 05:04:18 pm
Okay folks, given the number of products on the market and the differing prices, application rates, number of weeks cover etc I decided to do a comparison as to value for money and thought I'd post it here for your help.

Prices are based on 2.2l packs from Mole Valley, though it must be said that I can buy at Scats for less money and no P&P (as they are close to where I live). I have only included product that treat fly strike, tick, lice so that excludeds Spot-On. I have not included the price of the applicator gun. I also excluded Crovect as it only gives 4 weeks cover. I have not included details of withdrawal times as these vary and depends on your circumstances. Calculations are also based on 50kg animal

Ready for it...

Vetrazin - 10 weeks cover. 2.2l = £57.21
50ml dose
44 doses per pack
£1.30/dose
13p per week of cover

Clik - 16 week cover. 2.2l = £77.55
35ml dose
62 doses per pack
£1.25/dose
8p per week of cover

I'm sure you'll let me know if I've missed something.

Hope it helps. Now I need to do the same with wormers, blue tongue vaccination etc etc
Ian
