Title: Anyone fancy giving me a hand?
Post by: colliewoman on December 31, 2012, 09:41:15 pm
Ok, I don't like asking for help but I have some stuff at the new bit of land that all needs doing at once.
Most of the time it's just me but when he is free hubby helps too.
The land I have has been left in a discraceful midden with tat left every where. My poor sheep are only able to use part of it as untill I have cleaned it up there are bits of plastic etc that could get swallowed.
There are tarps half buried, wheels in the hedge and the most overgrown hedges waiting to velcro sheep into them.

I cannot afford to pay, but will gladly repay any help by doing chores/helping out in return.
I'm near Glastonbury and can feed you and house (!) and possibly get you rip roaring drunk :eyelashes: :eyelashes:

If I wasn't so so helpless at the moment I'd be there in a shot, It's always the same , you were the only one to help when we needed it now I can't return the favour, Dave has loads of mates he could round up for a weekends work , and I'm sure  he will organise a lift with one of them .Sorry sweetheart. :bouquet:

I would be there like a shot if I had someone to care for animals. Dave, if you could get as far as the bridge I could meet you there and you could borrow my Landy for a couple of days.

Sounds like mine when we first moved in but we had fishing nets, fishing lines with huge rusty hooks attatched, barbed wire, half buried landrovers, tin sheets, road cones, rusty barrels, rubber mats ??? , hessian sacks, rotten pallets , miles of rotten rope etc etc. We still have a rotting landrover in the burn which we cannot get to cause of the terrain but is steadily being washed out to sea! It all gets sorted eventually

Might be able to spend a day with you next week. I'm near Taunton, so not too far away. Do you want to PM me with details?

I find it hard to look after the house dogs and now a few hens, even with a husband its go go go........could you get a working lodger? mind you, I have had a few lodgers ....have you any room for one? a student or some one out of work ...I am millions of miles away and terribly unfit...I need a hand to tie my shoe laces and pull up my draws  :roflanim:

Try doing one job at a time, Sandy.  It's not easy doing up shoes one handed while pulling up your draws.

I get terrible cramp, I tried to pull up my PJ bottoms last night and everytme got bad cramp in my thigh so I left the B's down and they cut my circulation off all night and my bum was cold :roflanim:
I try to not do up laces now, I leave them done up and put the shoe on a bit looser...I am into velcro or elastic now not high fashion :innocent:

Really wish you were closer  :-\  I could swap helping you out for gaining knowledge in livestock husbandry.

It is a possibility for a family camping trip near you in warmer weather if you still need help.  ( all four of us from 5 years to 21+ are eager to learn  ;D )

Hope you get help soon, sorry I'm so far away too, am quite experienced in removing netting etc from growing in grass, bikes stuck in hedges etc.  Is your caravan not suitable for a wwoofer? Worth asking maybe?

You would all be welcome any time help needed or not  ;D  I live at the best spot for camping, and if it is before May, we can take the kidders (and adults) to the festival site and play on the pirate ship (with helter skelter) :excited: :excited: :excited:

Okay, consider yourself booked for the fourth sunny day every time after mid-May  ;)  (Ok, I admit that stooking hay doesn't teach you husbandry but it's great fun working as a team in the field :D)

We'll talk next Friday about what would be practical and suitable over lambing, yes?

Oh my! I am so sorry I have only just seen this!

Thank you so so so much :-* :-* :-*
However.... Hubby has come down with the norovirus which is not a pretty sight so I would suggest that unless you have already had it that we rain check for another day?

I really really don't want to sound ungrateful but you really don't want it if you can avoid it  :tired: :tired: :tired:

Having said that, if you have had it Tuesday would be amazing and I will make sure there is a pot of stew bubbling away for us :yum:
