Title: killing weight for chickens
Post by: shrekfeet on June 08, 2009, 11:09:37 pm
This may seem like a silly question as I know some of you will say 'it depends on the size iof bird you want to cook' but, what type of live to dead bird weight can I expect? ie if I want to feed a family of four with an average size chicken then what weight should it be when I kill it? :chook: :'( :farmer: ;D

pick it up, if it feels nice and plump, and @ 3 1/2 - 4kg it is ready. also if it a rooster and is becoming a nuisance it is ready, whatever the weight.
