:'( :'( :'(
Daffyd the wonder duck is very poorly :'(
Rat killing muscovy extrordinaire has had a run in with the fox. He has survived but is quite a poorly boy.
Any spare thoughts would be much appreciated, I love that duck like my dogs

tilin antiinf-lamatrey warmth and care very sorry.

 That must be the very worse part of animal keeping!! :bouquet: :(

Healing thoughts on their way
If you have any Bach's Rescue Remedy you could try putting some drops in his water, or if he is very tame a few drops into his beak, or mix some drops with water in a hand held sprayer and then misted over his bill and face might help.
I have had birds survive traumatic fox injuries so give him time and quiet to get over things

Ah poor Daffyd :bouquet:

poor boy, healing thoughts on the way

Tell him how lucky he was to escape. The rescue remedy might work. I lost all my lovely p[et ducks and 10 of my 11 hens to a fox just a few weeks ago. I hate foxes.

 The fact he's still with you is a good sign - hopefully he'll fight if you give him time and space. One of my cats had a run in with a car last year which normally only goes one way but was absolutely fine after a few days of vet care.
Where are you? I went in to pay my vet bill today and they had a call about a duck coming in while I was there - now that really would be a small world story.

I'm near Glastonbury, but it wouldn't have been me, Daffyd was far too stressed to be transported so I chose to let him heal or pass in peace if he chose not to fight. He is still fighting :excited:
-
Good to hear he's still fighting, those first few hours are often the critical ones, so he sounds as though he may survive to fight another day  :&>
-
Just caught up with this - sending all possible good wishes and healing vibes to Daffyd  :&> and  to you :-*
I quite understand loving a Muscovy like a dog; they're such big beautiful characters, and seem to interact with their humans in a way other ducks don't. Fight on, Daffyd. :&>

Good luck :fc: .
Sorry CW :bouquet:

You haven't said what his injuries are Colliewoman. Presumably it's more shock than anything physical? In which case keep him warm, in familiar surroundings and hydrated.
-
How is he doing ?
-
Apart from being bloodied in the wing pit, and that wing having dropped I can find no other injuries.....
But, placid and friendly as he is as soon as he is picked up it's like trying to hold a wildcat with knives strapped on :o That was doing him nor me no favours so we are going for the keep him in, warm full off food and with his wife let him heal :fc:
He's still with us and stuffing his face today so hopefully....
I was going to say he would never win another beauty prize, but to be fair he always has looked like he's been hit with a shovel ;D
Good old Daffyd
-
Arh, he is a fighter, and probably loving all the attention bless him

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Daffyd the wonder duck lives to fight another day!!!
He still has a bit of of a gimpy wing, but seeing as the only way out of the goat shed that he is in is by flying and the fact the past 2 mornings he has come to meet me at the gate.......
I reckon he's going to be just fine
No more sign of the fox, I think the fella up the road with poultry shot it.
Thanks for all the good wishes all! :-*
