Perhaps they should do away with MP's expenses completely?

perhaps they should do away with mp's completely?? :D

Naaaaah - we've got to have somebody to blame for all that goes wrong in this country... ;)
-
fair enough, but paying for a paddock through expenses is ridiculous.
-
I agree. In fact, I don't think they should get anything for a second home. If I have to/want to take a job in another part of the country from where I live at the moment, it's up to me to pay for the living costs that go with it. And I would make considerably less than they do...
-
i agree, i think the tax laws that apply to you and me should apply to them too.
-
Take a look at David Cameldungs dad and how he 'avoided ' tax to make millions . But it was all within the law !
Well seeing as it is these corrupt arsholes that make the laws it would be wouldn't it ?
The bunch of corrupt parasites that are in the cabinet will not change no matter what .
The only way to be rid of them would be revolution ! Can't see that happening in the uk .
Keep the peeps occupied with sham inquries into the press , or dead perverts , or the malinguring disabled , the lazy scrounging unemployed etc etc
in other words divide and rule , it works everytime without fail , and is doing so like a dream now .
As soon as the cat was out of the bag about how nearly all mp's were corrupt and stealing the peoples money , the mp's hit back . Just look back at what has happened since they were all caught red handed stealing !
That wanker Gideon Osborne is killing the uk , he should be shot , instead he probably gets shagged by his bollinger club mates like the old days in Eton 'we're all in it together ' .
I hate the bastards , a pox on all of them .
Now let one of them take me to court , the s**t really will the fan then !
Thieves , liars , fraudsters , murderers and inbred tosspots the lot of them .

Oh you are so maligning the poor man. I think that all of us who are (genuinely) on disability benefits should give them up so he can buy himself a whole farm. :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J :-J
-
cameron was in reciept of dla for his son for months, despite him and his family and his wifes family being multi millionaires, he still took the 300 odd/month.
-
I think it's fair enough for an MP to have accommodation both in his/her constituency and in London when they're sufficiently far apart. I also think they should get free first class travel between one and the other because they should be working and that work is confidential.
However too many MPs or all colours used their allowances as a personal investment fund. And far too many MPs have no real connection with their constituency. But as Churchill said (I think) Democracy is worst form of government apart from all the others.
As for Osborne he's a Londoner who's only ever worked in London. So buying a farm in t'North near his constituency was an investment, and a very profitable one. All he needed was a flat, and that's what should have been paid for. For the much greater number of MPs who need to camp in London you'd have thought HMG could have bought or rented some blocks of flats and used economies of scale

bl..dy hear hear.
just for information parliament costs to run 455 million a year.
the total cost of disability living allowance FRAUD is 6.5million.
so, if we saved around 1% of the mps budget we would have no need to pursue the disabled. it is estimated 11000 diasbled people have died as a direct result of having their dla stopped and the process employed by the government, in 2 years.
thats more than twice as many killed on our roads a year.
have a paddock mr osborne. have your dla mr cameron. truly professional fraud.
-
have your dla mr cameron
DLA is not means tested, and Ivan Cameron was severely disabled - so the Camerons were entitled to receive DLA under the current legislation. Not fraud at all, unless you're trying to claim that Ivan Cameron was not a very sick little boy.
Are you just making a party political point here and ignoring any misdeeds on the other bench?
Lets not forget Mrs Moran and her forged expense claims, or Elliot Morley and his jail sentence.
The whole MP expense scandal was an unedifying spectacle and the current Speaker is doing nothing to help either with his attempt to block the data about MPs renting their properties to each other.
And don't think the unions are blemish free either - take the paragon of Left Wing Socialism, Bob Crow - gets a weighty £131K p.a. package from the RMT and lives in a subsidised council house - and is apparently proud of the fact he lives in social housing - perhaps the irony is lost on him.

no im not attacking on party political lines, the whole damn lot of them are corrupt!!
i know ivan cameron was a very sick little boy, how did £300 a month help him?? when daddy and mummy make more on the interest off their empires than most people could ever earn, whats £75/week? an mp gets £160/week grocery allowance, as well as 75 a day lunch allowance... whats £75/week dla to him. nothing, so why claim it??
theres misdeeds on all sides of the regime, all sponsored by the same banking elite. a 2 horse race with the same financers on each side, like in america.
im entitled to claim carers allowance for my daughter but i dont, ive managed to maintain a sense of honour. i wish our government would do the same.
-

DITW, this does rather read as if you think claiming entitlements is acting dishonourably.
-
that wasnt my intention.
i dont claim carers allowance because i consider it my duty to care for my daughter, why should i be paid for it? thats my own personal judgement. i do claim my working tax credits because the tax regime here is set up only to further line the pockets of the rich. ie what i claim just goes back to them anyhow. wages are supported by working tax credits to save the rich paying a proper wage, extortionate rents are supported by housing benefit which goes straight back to the councils and landlords. everybody is entitled to a safe home under human right law but its made unaffordable so has to be subsidised by the state. buy to let is payed for by the state in the majority of cases, no matter if you work hard. as i do.
if i was a millionaire i wouldnt be claiming a penny. i consider that to be dishonourable.
i believe if you are disabled then you are entitled to claim dla, but its ironic that the same person who once claimed dla is now stopping it for the truly disabled and destitute, whilst robbing the poor through the expenses system to pay for second homes, country estates and paddocks.
i think its the president of uruguay who gives 90% of his wage back to charity. lives in a 2bedroom flat and drives a battered old beetle. thats an example mps need to look at.
how can osborne justify cutting peoples benefits whilst sleazing a paddock at the same time? why, cos theyre all at it. scumbags.
-
what you lot don't realise is that if ossy doesn't make savings on the welfare bill then he won't be able to afford to give tax cuts to his rich mates. It's called trickle down economics, he gives more money to the super rich, who then trickle it down to ferrari dealerships and champagne importers. Those supercars won't buy themselves, you know.
-
DITW, I didn't think you did mean it like that. Just wanted to point it out. :)

And think of the posh car manufacturers who would go out of business, putting even more people out of work. And those poor people who would half to cut down on their expensive holidays to maybe only three a year. :-J
I have just been awarded DLA. The letter that came informing me of this, did say that my entitlement might change if my condition did, which is fair enough. I don't want it if I'm not entitled. No mention at all of it changing because of government cut-backs, but then they don't want to draw attention to that. I need the money to pay for the things that I can no longer do, such as cleaning, decorating, etc. My OH does the personal care and, being blind and with poor co-ordination, can't cope with everything else as well. Hopefully his DLA is safe.
