Is it true that with geese you need gander for the goose to lay ?????????

no. but if you want new ones it is. its hard to tell which is which  well it is for us. we thought we had three pairs turns out we have 5 geese. he helps protect them so they are not a big deal.

Don't think this is true. I just "googled" and there is no mention of it - it does say that geese are not good layers and you only get upto 40 eggs a year! Maybe I am wrong.

at 1/2 pound each the poor goose. one egg really goes a long way.
