i have a store lamb that has gone off its legs, foaming at the mouth and going around in circles like its drunk. What could this be? what could i do to treat it? have given it dose of pencillin, my neighbour has suggested it has worms on the brain what would this be or it this just taking the mick. any ideas would be much appreciated cheers

Could be all sorts, to be honest I would be on the phone to the Vets NOW!
Could be Clostridia
Could be Listeriosis (my guess)
Could be poisoning
Could be choking
Could be 101 things
You need your vet now IMO
Good luck :fc:

Sounds like listeria but could be many other things.
'Worms on the brain' - he means gid.
Penicillin is a good call, I would add a good dose (max for its weight and same again the next two days) of B vitamins too - that helps if it's CCN.
-
Do you have rhodedendron the leaves go sweet with the frost and sheep poison themselves when they would not normally eat it - the symptoms are similar- in any case vet time as as above
-
If rhododendron poisoning is a possibility then I believe drenching with strong tea if caught early enough can be a life saver.
Would also agree re the penicillin and combivit injection for the B vits.
Is the lamb vaccinated?
Speak to your vet asap.
-
Support all the above. Penicillin and B vits now if you've got them, strong tea if rhodedendrons a possibility.
But call the vet ASAP
-
Vet - with symptoms like that, whatever it is, all of the conditions need a vet attention first and quickly.
