Title: masterject
Post by: kja on November 26, 2012, 08:01:45 am
anyone got any views on them ?

we are thinking of ordering one this week in preparation of the next round of injections i am thinking if it makes injections less stressful for the pigs it has to be worth the experience.

we can also use it on the cattle should the need arise.

We use slap-shot - much cheaper.

Buy a slap-shot vacinator

In UK you can get it from
www.farmandcountrysupplies.co.uk/slapshot-flexible-vaccinator.ir?cName=farm-smallholding-medical-healthcare-needles-drenchers-pour-on-applicators-syringesgunsapplicators (http://www.farmandcountrysupplies.co.uk/slapshot-flexible-vaccinator.ir?cName=farm-smallholding-medical-healthcare-needles-drenchers-pour-on-applicators-syringesgunsapplicators)
Otherwise QC supply will ship worldwide

Masterject also works, but some people find that pigs get wise to you going in with it.

:wave:we have tried the slap shot in the past not 100% taken with it then read someone raving on about the masterject on another forum have a look at one and thought i would ask around.

i have just place a order in readiness for the rounds in the next few weeks.

I have a masterject and best bit of kit that I've bought. It means I can inject the whole herd including the boars on my own and safely. Go for it.

this is what i keep hearing too.

it has been ordered and should arrive today. it is expensive but if it reduces time, man power & stress in both the pigs and us and is all it is said to be it will be money well spent.

Definitely worth it - even if the pigs get wise to it, you can still always get the injection in, and in my opinion 100 times better than a Slapshot with all its air bubble problems.  Could not be without it now.   If you are doing a high volume injection on a large adult pig, for example Noromectin (wormer), its worth using one of the very large needles, gauge 13 or 14, to minimise the bottleneck effect of all the liquid going very fast down the narrow tube of the needle.   Tamsaddle
