Title: Where to buy mangles?
Post by: Button End Beasts on November 24, 2012, 08:25:56 am
hi again

Does anybody know where to buy mangel or fodder beet seed from in small quantities? We thought we might try and grow some of that in places where our pigs have been. However, we don't want to grow it on a farming scale. Probably summertime free area for growing veg in would be 500 to 900 m2.

Also any idea where to get this from as a veg? It might be wise to try it out on our rather fussy OSB gilt first, although our meat pigs seem to eat anything going!

Tucker's seeds do them in small quantities - 1000 seeds £1.90. They also do fodder beet and stubble turnip.
