i tried a few last year - you can buy rainbow carrots which have purple, white, yellow, red and oranje
they ddn't do anything :-(
i was looking forward to them as well - but i'm off the idea now, will stick to "traditional" carrots
but i got them from dobies or some such place, iv'e seen them pretty regularly actually, surprised you are having trouble

No to Dobbies in stirling , did try them the other day I found some last night on ebay so gona try them. I whated to try a pack with all the different coloured but didn't have any luck so what i did was found different coloured packets with different coloures then when i get some am gona mix them together :)
See how i go just wanted to try something different.

Bourgh quite a few seeds and potatoes from ebay, not tried plants or plugs but it does good to check the feedback on people also when buy seeds check to see if they have included the 'expire' date or email them for information about them.
I was always told if you are to buy plugs or plants get them from the same part of the country or somewhere which is a little colder or the same temperature.
