Hi folks, I'm in need of some advice ???
I've found a website which has blatantly copied text from my website, is there anything that I can do about it ?
I normally wouldn't mind in the slightest (providing it stated where the info had come from) but in this case I'm afraid I do mind >:( The site in question has slagged off both myself and my OH, yet they obviously think enough of us to use my text and pass it off as their own ::) (or lack the intelligence to actually write something of their own)
Suggestions please !
Karen

Tell us who they are Karen and we can bombard them with junk mail. :roflanim:

There is much you can do, but you will need to go to their web host. In the event of the copyright thieves not instantly complying with your request to remove it will be the web host who ultimately acts on your behalf. Most web hosts are pretty good at doing this when evidence is provided.
:innocent:
Tell the bad guys your copy right agent is coming after compensation.

You don't have to MAKE something copyright - if you wrote it first and it's copied, then it's a breach of copyright. Go, HH

Karen, that's so wrong but plagiarism is rife now. I hope you can make them take it off.
As Rosemary says, you have the copyright simply by writing it and there are rules about it. Good luck.

dear hippy
just say the word and i'm sure we can make their site come crashing down :-)

We have an ark company that blatentely slated us and copied some of our text and on top of which they then put a photo of a broken ark which fallen off the lorry of another ark company and underneath they then said it was so badly made that a pig had broken it. Thre are some awful people out there who will stoop so low to try and get an edge.
On another note, copy their wording and website into word or whatever then name them. They can't do you for naming them as long as you have kept proof. If you can't get them for copyright, they sure can't do you for naming them

Thats definitely not right....some right hard faced folk about.Do hope you can do something about it.
Someone "stole" a pic of one of my ponies off the internet. Would not mind if it was just for their own use ....but they made it into posters, tee shirts, mugs etc and were selling them on ebay. It was pulled from ebay, only for the seller to start up again using a different name!!
