Hi all just a quick query about Flubnevet & using it with ducks - is it actually licensed in ducks as I tried researching it & found its licensed in practically everything else but saw nothing about ducks so was just wondering if anyone has ever used it in ducks? Also for all other species - for us this includes ducks, geese, turkeys & chickens how often would you worm them all with it - the turkeys were wormed about a month ago & the owners said worm again in about 3 months time.
Advice please xxx

I worm all mine every 6 months. I don't know if it's licensed in ducks but many folk use it for them. I use it for hens, ducks and geese, though I also worm my geese with a squirt of levamisole down their necks, as mine mainly graze rather than eat hard food.
I buy Marriages pellets with Flubenvet mixed in - that way you know there's an even dose - and just replace everyone's feed with that for a week.

Ok thanks Jay where do u get the marriages food from? Is it sold by a small company by you or can I get it from nationwide companies such countrywide or wynstay? Also I'll enquire with my vets about the levamisole & is it licensed in turkeys to as these as well as the geese will be on a 50/50 grass / grain diet & free ranging? & are the geese hard to worm like that & can both be used in youngstock? x

I don't know how young you can worm them with levamisole, so check with the vet.
Not too hard to do, grab the bird and have them facing with their back to you, hold them between your legs, pinning their wings. Left hand under beak, finger and thumb either side and 'pinch' above their lower beak to open their mouth. Squirt wormer onto their tongue slowly allowing them to swallow - they can do this with you holdiing their beak, as long as their tongue is free,
They curse and swear but it's not too bad.
I buy my Marriages from SPR (http://www.sprcentre.com/Online-Shop-Categories/Poultry-Wormers/Marriages-Layers-Pellets-with-Flubenvet-20kg)

OMG, you're a genius! I've just changed the pigs onto Marriages with fantastic results. Never occurred to me that they would put Flubenvet into the chicken feed! Thanks jaykay :excited: you can't beat learning from experience, albeit someone else's :innocent:

Tempting but it says only for chickens & geese do u use it on anything else? otherwise further investigation may be needed x
