Oh he is a little darling. I know nothing about dogs, so what make is he? We had a Monty too, our beloved cockeral who was such a little poppet. Our Monty was named after Monty Panesar the cricketer who was our favourite at the time!
Our latest cockeral Jethro is named after our fave character in our fave programme NCIS!

hopefully you didn't go to see him when he was doing it? He'll soon stop, he's been wrenched from everything he knows...  ;)

Has he got a big teddy or something to snuggle with? Seems to help pups (and other young animals) settle.

Also crate him for a morning and afternoon nap when he is tired and you are still around.  You can give him rest time too with a kong stuffed with treats to chew on in his crate so it is a nice place to be but with no interaction from people when you can get on with housey things so you are still around but ignore him. This way he learns no screaming gets attention. Only ever open the door when he is settled and quiet ( even if it means a long wait for that three seconds of quiet when the door then gets opened. Ignore him for the first five minutes of opening the crate ( if he is likely to need the toilet in this time walk to the door and open it onlynspeaking tom praise toiling, but try to avoid likelyntoilet times for crate training if possible )
A very good book of puppy tips and behaviour is 'the Perfect Puppy' by Gwen Bailey. I still look through when bringing on a pup just to refresh for the basics that can be missed but can make training so much easier.

I'm sooo  :huff: of monty's, I want him for cuddles.

Funny you should say that - we have done exactly what you suggested. He has gone in his big cage when he falls asleep along with a few toys etc. Plays merry hell when he wakes up and we ignore him.

He also was very vocal for much of the night which also got totally ignored Not sure how long it will last - but think he will soon learn that the cries don't get attention. He goes to the vets on Monday for injections and again in 2 weeks for follow ups.

Keep it up  he'll be much better settled within a week.    :tired:

Well worth the little niggles and a few sleepless nights.
