What were pig prices like?
-
I'd left my catalogue in the motor, didn't know where OH was parked, so could only remember the 'micro pigs' (piglets) £2 ea for some and others no takers at £1 ea for some others.
I was disgusted at the goats, the 'alpines', one was BA type, only a kid, smaller than my Toggs, had been running with billy, disgraceful. Just hope she isn't in kid
'milking nanny' so thin, puny little udder, thin back legs practically knocking togetheras she went out of the ring. one wenet for £85, can't remember whether it was her or not.
I was really taken with some Badger faced sheep, 2-3 shear were going about £70. does this seem OK? I got the vendors phone number, hoping to get something next year, hopefully lambs, he's not too far away near Burnley.
Jacobs looked OK to me - going at £50 / £52 ea, in 2's. does this seem a fair price, always liked Jacobs, so that might be an alternative for next year. :-\

Not good for pig prices :-\ . Hopefully if people realise they are not going to get any money from their "micro pigs" they will stop breeding them :fc: .
The condition of some animals that you see at market is awful. There were some pigs at one we went to this year and how they were still standing I don't know. They were eating the sawdust that was soaked in pee they were that hungry >:( . People should be shot, if you can't afford to feed them the least they could do is send them to market before they get into a bad way.
Can't help with the sheep prices I'm afraid :-\

gives an idea of the prices although not as in depth as the normal reports from ccm.
