further to a bizarre conversation between my wife and 3 year old daughter can anyone clarify do ducks have accents, do scottish, welsh and english ducks sound different to each other?
help my head hurts!!!
-
Dear Bloomer,
You all need to get out more.
Love everyone on TAS.
;D
-
its not me its my daughter, my wife asked her if ducks had accents and she said yes and demonstrated the differences :excited: :excited: :excited:
-
I have problems noticing people's accents, let alone ducks.
-
well if she demonstrated the difference then it must be true. good on her, a scientist in the making.
-
please remember she's three but her welsh duck was hilarious!!!

:&> :&> :&> She clearly has a great future as a comedienne
I don't know about ducks, but sheep definitely have different accents, and different breeds have different dialects :sheep: :sheep: 8)

We have a Welsh duck called Evinrude (you'll either get it or you won't), and she definitely quacks differently from Mrs Khaki Campbell, who's Scottish.
They in turn quack differently from the Indian Runners, who are of course.................... Malaysian ;)

Our's are Muscovy, originally from South America, so feeling a bit of the cold they have now taken to knitting hats and capes for themselves :knit: , most talented, I believe one of them does triganomatry and another one is an astronomer, most handy on these clear frosty nights.
Any video footage of ducks doing marvellous things would be good, or a 3 year old girl's impressions of ducks with dialects most welcome (if you can put such things on computers these days). And if you have time on your hands bloomer, I'm sure there's the makings of a childrens story in there somewhere. Get copyright quick. :D

:D Definitely a scientist in the making
Apparently song birds have regional variations, aka accents, so I don't see why ducks shouldn't have :)
-
a wee dram said the Scottish duck
It's half an ower til kwia practice so I'll have a bowul of Cader Idris spring water said the Welsh duck....who was in fact a drake
-

I dunno if our have accents, but they are from Somerset, Leicester and Nottinghamshire.
They understand any language you like as long as you have a lettuce in your hand.
