Title: selling things in marketplace!
Post by: deepinthewoods on October 31, 2012, 06:56:13 pm
nearly everything that is being put in christmas gifts/ marketplace that is being handmade by tas members is being priced too cheaply.

please take some time to accurately work out what it has cost you to make, including your time spent!

you cannot buy these things on the high street that cheaply! so why here?
its great to be reasonable but be realistic. i for one would be happier to pay a premium for handmande goods, as im sure would many others.
things priced cheaply are often seen as being cheap, when in fact they are superior quality.

use price points, whats the difference to a buyer between 4.50 and 5, not alot, but to a supplier its 10% more profit, that sort of margin matters ok!!!!

Absolutely agree. We tend to be a bit diffident about asking for money. Value yourselves properly, folks. The product of your time and skill is worth much more than some rubbish from China!
