I know they've got snow in Insch and Methlick too :-\
Keep it up north please for just a wee bit longer :fc:

A few snow showers here too - east aberdeenshire - sheep happily tucking into a bale of hay, just to keep them topped up!

A small bit on the hill caingorm highlands The damp, murky and mild conditions that have hung over central and southern UK this week will finally be swept away southwards today, as much colder but clearer conditions move down from the north. So for most areas it will be much brighter but colder for the next few days, with widespread frost developing overnight, though there will be some wintry showers in the far north and east. We still have cloudy skies hanging on across southern England and south Wales this morning, which is producing some light rain. This cloud and rain should clear away southwards this morning, with skies brightening from the north. So most places should end up with sunny spells, but feeling cold in the northeasterly breeze. The best of the sunshine will be across the west, cloudier at times across northern Scotland and down the eastern side of the UK, with a scattering of showers, which will bring a mixture of rain, sleet, hail and even some snow over higher ground. Temperatures will reach only 9C at best in London and Cardiff, 7C in Manchester and Belfast, perhaps only 5C in Edinburgh. Feeling even colder when exposed to the stiff northeasterly breeze. Tonight, wintry showers will continue towards the east coast, falling as hail, sleet and even snow to lower levels at times, bringing some slight accumulations. Otherwise dry and clear overnight, but a widespread frost developing, which will lead to some icy surfaces where showers have fallen. Then a sparkling day for most on Saturday, mostly dry and sunny but cold, though wintry showers at first in eastern areas. Cloudier across northern Scotland, with rain spreading in from the northwest preceded by hill snow. A much different day on Sunday though, with alot of cloud spilling down from the north west across all areas, bringing outbreaks of rain. Turning slightly milder in the west too.

We've noticed a chill in the wind which is coming from our front gate, not the neighbour's lake side. We are cosy and warm inside though. Ive really noticed how much warmer the house is already this autumn, and I think its because we have had a new ceiling put in the lounge, covering up the beams. Also, the room above the kitchen is now fully insulated and in use (our new bedroom), so no draughts coming from there either.
We are having roasted chestnuts for lunch today as I was too poorly on Wednesday to enjoy them. Can't wait.

Snow risk in next 48 hoursThere will be showers around in the next couple of days, and some of them will fall as snow. I’ve pasted in the GFS precipitation type chart for 18GMT Friday 26th October, and as you can see, the hatched areas highlighting the possibility of snow showers are quite extensive. It looks as though the greatest risk will be in the north, although the odd shower could make it to the south, and overnight East Anglia and Kent and Essex could see a few showers with some snow flakes mixed in! If it does snow in your locality

Snow last night, a powdering early evening and judging by the ground this morning some more in the night.
