This can go in here as it covers many topics
I didn't see the whole programme but the last half was very good,
How cute are the Black Necked goats in Switzerland??? (I have recently discovered goats and have a big soft spot for them, blame Ballingall)
But more importantly what was the woman who loved her bee's a bit too much on about?
Feel free to discuss anything else about the programme which i will get to watch the first half of later on I-player...

I wasn't impressed. Yes the swiss alps looked lovely as did the goats and cows but the whole programme seemed to go very much away from the usual topics.
What was all that about painting the lighthouse. Yes it probably does look better in red and white but did we really need to see the artists impression of what it would be like left unpainted.

Ah yes, and did you notice how the sky on the unpainted version wasn't quite as bright and sunny looking as the one they wanted people to pick ::)
Bloomer, I'm with you on the goats ! So cool ;D and the crazy bee lady, well, we've all got our own little eccentricities - haven't we ? :innocent:

I do wonder about some of the muppets they get on these programmes, one woman said the lighthouse would get washed away and fall into the sea. It's made of granite its not going anywhere the paint is so it looks good not to protect it.

well bionic crap in farm terms radio 4 the same 5.45 i do like Adam but when speaking to him and his dad its money farm parks 5 farms working together e mail sunday Take part in our spooky Halloween farm attractions from Saturday 27th upto Wednesday 31st - All Hallows Eve!Bring in your 'spooky farm-yard' carved pumpkins, which shall all be entered in to our competition and the winner, judged by Adam, shall win a family day pass! We look forward to seeing them! and yes they sell the pumpkins, not enough help about farming and small holding

Well, Adam is a hard-nosed businessman at the end of the day.
I thought Julia was ill-advised (foolhardy?) going that close to someone else's bees without even a veil. But full marks for showing what happened even if she did use left profile for the rest of that piece. Being stung on the face isn't nice, being stung on the eyelid is worse.

Clearly they are trying to reach a wider audience. I have loved the visits to the Alps, especially as I saw my favourite ever sheep - the Nez Noire de Valais which are totally beautiful. Seeing the practicalities of bringing them down from their summer pastures was fascinating. :sheep: :sheep: :sheep:
I loved the bi-coloured goats too but what about the friendly cows and their shoving matches? I was a bit surprised at Adam Henson's I'm-definitely-not-a-cow-whisperer approach to the poor cow which clearly thought his jerky movements, flailing arms and shouting were pretty scary, compared to the calm approach of their keepers. I thought as a lifetime farmer he might have had a more sympathetic approach. Maybe it's the needs of filming.
Julia Bradbury being stung was fun too :D Should have tied her hair back :bee: :bee: :bee: ::)

We thought the goats looked quite a lot like Bagots. Very similar.
Thought bee lady was nuts!

Countryfile is so dumbed down it's painful. It used to be for farmers; it's now just easy Sunday viewing for the masses.

apart from the swiss goats the other item of interest was weather... snow in the north on Friday so cracking on with outside jobs

True, but it does help if many more people get to hear a "country" point of view. Those that can may then pay more for real farm produce - or even go looking for it. So many people are so far from a farming background now.
