Title: I have a problem...
Post by: bloomer on October 17, 2012, 06:35:17 pm
Biscuits...

If i open a packet, or bake biscuits they just don't last very long!!!

With the current weather I have been baking 2-3 times a week and i'm starting to need new ideas...

So how do you like yours?

What are your favourite biscuits to bake?

Keiner , nessuno, ninguno, aucun,
                                                                                                                ?? ?? ???

None - biscuits are the devils food! If I start on one I eat them all so best not to have any in the house.

Enjoy though !

Bloomer, I have a similar problem but with cakes. I have just made a dozen coconut cupcakes. Don't suppose they will last long  :(

i sympathise, i can easily do a big pack of bourbons or a pack of digestives in an hour, with loads of milk for dipping. yum.
i did have a problem a few months back, waking up in the middle of the night and sleepwalking to the kitchen for weetabix, on one occasion i woke to find i had spread branston pickle on them and put them in a bowl and covered in milk, that wasnt a good taste sensation.  the last time this happened i woke to find myself throwing up in the sink after trying to eat weetabix that instead of sugar, i had liberally sprnkled salt onto. yuck.
luclkily my sleepwalking phase ended with this incident.

ok your worse than me, the packet of biscuits in an hour is easy, tea though during the day, although if im awake in the night a large glass of milk and half a dozen bourbons are a nice snack...

the weetabix issues you have are really quite serious i'm glad you appear to have them under control now!!!

No, biscuits dont really do it for me,although Im partial to the odd shortbread, but crisps.well they're a different beast altogether. I love Doritos (sweet chilli),wheat crunchies, skips, scampi fries, and crinkle cut crisps. The only ones Im not overly keen on are plain or bacon flavoured anythings. Trouble is I cant get most of what I like over here, perhaps that's blessing in disguise!

I was astonished to see on a bag of crisps that it contained a tenth of recommended daily salt intake.  Scary

I'm with MAK on this - just don't have them in the house. They are bad for you. (Yes, I  know they taste nice - but unfortunately, they are addictive (it's mostly the sugar in  them), and as they are not essential for survival, I'd rather do without.)

Exactly Ina, wine on the other hand is essentail and we must have plenty on hand to avoide stress, meloncholy, poor indigestion, heart disease, circulatory disease and of course to support and help those low waged comrades who toil in the fields then wash their feet to stamp out the juice of the gods.
S-d biscuits.

I think David makes their own biscuits - with 4 kids he'd need to, so I'd guess they have good ingredients in them.  Just keep them away from here please. :eyelashes:

The only biscuits that set foot in our house are Rich Tea for the goats.  We don't like those so they are safe.  When we used to have digestives, the goats didn't get a look in.  Now I am gluten intolerant, the memory of how ill it makes me feels keeps me from being tempted but my OH would eat biscuits or cakes if we had them in the house.

I do make him the odd lemon drizzle cake though - ok, gluten free so I can help him out.   ;)

I only buy digestives and they're for the sheep. I've been trying to think of anything I'm addicted to :-\ :-\  and can only come up with books :(  Not that I eat them!!!! :o

You are so right...

Another point in favour of wine- I always fall asleep after half a bottle. Strangely enough, that doesn't happen with biscuits. :P
