Title: Clearing veg plot
Post by: moprabbit on October 15, 2012, 09:37:41 am
I'm just starting to clear my veg plot and wondered if some things would be Ok for the sheep to have - I've got courgette plants and runner bean plants mainly. Would these be Ok for the sheep to eat? Thanks

I always give vegetable waste to my rams. They are in paddocks on their own for more than 1/2 the year and seem to be more open to new sensations.
Beans would be good, my rams will even eat spoilt tomatoes and onion leaves.

I keep goats in order to feed orphan lambs, and these guys are an even better target for garden waste.

Between goats, dogs and rams nothing gets wasted around here!

I shared the runner bean plants out between 4 goats and 5 sheep today. Sheep turned their woolly noses up at them but the goats demolished the lot  :)
