Title: Garden envy
Post by: escapedtothecountry on October 14, 2012, 04:08:50 pm
We just ventured over the border into Scotland and went to Floors Castle where I had severe Garden envy walking round their walled garden (some photos attached). It wasnt particularly the garden by the greenhouses, cold frames and set up they had! Oh if only I could have such a set up!!

The interesting thing was that it looks like a proper garden. By that I mean clearly they have gardeners looking after it... apparently its Scotland's largest castle with people living in it. BUT because its a privately owned house I don't think they make it as pristine as say the National Trust sometimes do. So, I saw dandelions in the flower beds etc, which made it more real to me.

Later on this week we are going to visit the gardens in Alnwick (we've been before) and I suspect they will be pristine.

Im just getting idea to make my own 2 acres of paradise.
