Sharp frost here this morning , -2C , and as I entered the downstairs loo I just happened to notice the dull emitter lamp that we use for hatchlings , this warmed the seat for me , then I used it to warm the paper............. now that is Luxury , :excited: don't knock it till you tried it.

;D
Feeling warm is certainly very good
I need to go out and clean the sheep trailer from yesterday, but I'll just have another coffee sitting by the Aga first and admire the crisp, cold morning from in here a bit longer.........

Doug I used to work at a plastics company many yonks ago. One of the things they made was heated lavatory seats for hospitals. They gave us one to try out in the ladies loo. Agree, it was great on cold days ;D
-
My 'new to me' car has heated seats. Oh, the relaxation on a sore back when the heat starts to kick in ;D

Oh, I remember those, in a much-loved Volvo many years ago... The Swedes understand a thing or two about cold weather! :D
Nowadays I take a hot-water bottle with me in the car on cold days. If I have the heating on in the car, I fall asleep :o, so I have a hottie behind my back, and a jumper, gloves and if necessary hat on, and the heat down low. Toastie warm and stay awake - result

I have been known to put the single bar wall heater on in the bathroom for a few minutes before sitting down. Whoever invented cold plastic loo seats was a mysogenist, for sure! :D

Oh, I want me one of those! Where can I get one?

Sorry Sally, the company went out of business many years ago. The warm toilet seats were not that popular though.

:roflanim: made me think back to when I was a kid, putting toilet paper around the seat because it was too cold to sit on :roflanim:

And I thought my heated wing mirrors were the utmost in luxury... 8)

Ah, it hasn't got those :)

Cold ? Cold ?
What is that ?
No heated wellies for me , just walk faster !
Dig faster , deeper , longer , soon warm up .
Heated loo seats ?
Would have to be heated bucket rims here !
Luxury is walking to the land and not getting soaked !

Our car has heated seats but I dont like them as to me it feels like you might have wet yourself... :excited:

Too busy to wee - wear a nappy and keep on the go, will keep you cosy in winter ( ;D )
-
Luxury is a boot room to leave the wet clothes in, and a warm bathroom to retire to afterwards.
-
I'm thinking of putting a wood bun er in the middle of the barn as well as old set ti for lambing and hens
-
I'm sure the hens will really appreciate having a comfy settee and woodburner for cozy nights in - makes my hen coops sound a bit rough :D
-
We changed our plastic toilet seats for wooden ones - much warmer. Now I have to have the raised ones, we're back to plastic and they are cold. No, one is cold. the other is FREEZING.
-
well jay kay iv had a new roof on the barn iv also double glazed the hen houses and do ores so just making life a bit easier you no haw it is hopping to get some eggs from you next spring .The pilgrim geese i hatched have done well iv also got east of England geese hope alls well
-
New roof and double glazing sound excellent, as you say, might as well make life easier where it can be made
You're welcome to eggs VF, all things being equal I'll set up my breeding pens in March so should have pure hatching eggs by April. I need to buy some more Buff Sussex pullets though, I'm down to only one hen and a cock. Plenty of Wyandottes, Marans and Cream Legbars :)

err.... are you sure? BH didn't realise he had them on his pickup until I came along - the rear window is internal in the pickup, and the dogs smear the front window of the rear pickup compartment so you can't see out of the rear window of the cab in any case, so he never used the rear demist so never realised that it also demisted the wing mirrors. :roflanim:

What is is with dogs and their need to leave nose prints all over car windows.

Someone should design a toilet roll dispenser that heats the paper as you pull
it out!

It makes the ink run.....

The hi-tec Japanese loo does away with the need for loo roll, at the expense of some complexity

heated loo paper? heated loo seats? You might as well get the computer in there and never come out of your 'office' you southern softies! We've got 2 garden loos which are composting ones - bit of sawdust on the top of your contribution :garden: and hey presto, it's odour free for the next in the queue. Makes you feel warmer in winter if you go outside and then come back in again! :cold:

What NO inside loos? I am impressed! Although makes those middle of the night - I shouldn't have had that last glass of wine - visits a bit more adventourous...
Remember them from when as kids we went to visit relations in the "village", no water mains then... for us (small) town kids it was all very exciting... and we always got told off for using too much sawdust..
-
Silly silly Anke!!! ;D ;D ;D I said GARDEN toilets - I'm not that flipping tough!!! ;D ;D ;D

Well our (gents) garden loo is known as the compost heap in other people's garden... for liquid contributions only of course... (and taking into consideration the wind direction).

Sawdust? That's posh... My most insistent memory of visits to my uncle's is the loo - in the pig shed. Proper wooden loo, of course; but your contributions simply went the same way as the pigs'. I was so scared - my knees were only a few centimetres away from those hungry snouts of those huuuuge (to me little one!) sows... :D
-
Sounds like our house, you never get a minutes peace, not even in the loo :D
