What kind of crafts?  I make all my own greetings cards, and occasionally do tapestry but not very arty crafty really.

I'd be interested Linz.. are you thinking along the same lines as the Gasbags Crafting Group over on Neeps? each week someone hosts at their house?

I love making cards... can knit a wee bit (a square  ;D) Can't crochet to save myself, can do basic sewing, would love to learn felting, spinning wool etc etc..... ooohhh what else is there  ;D

yes, to the gassbags group, really enjoyed myself the Wednesday (workshop craft and last night with the home crafts).

I am willing to host it at my house for the moment (untill other places can be found) you can bring anything that is portable.
I am put off with the idea of going to a hall etc cos you have to pay for that (me a big skin flint)
At the moment am doing knitting but, I can do many more crafts depending what project i am doing.

I have no prob what people what to do.
It depends if people want a day or evening for the group.

I can come any evening except Tuesday (dog agility), but I'm retired so free during the day too apart from walking my dogs. I'm at Clacks.  I used to do a wee bit of basic crochet and would love to learn to do it better.  I make cards, occasionally tapestry too. Moved here from Aberdeenshire end April - good grief is it really 4 months ago :o so would love to make new friends.

Hello, I love any crafty stuff but do not have any specific talant other than loads of ideas. I work from home and get a bit fed up with my own company and would be happy to provide a venue for an art/craft evening, I also could display stuff as I get guests from all over the world in our B and B and some may like to take home some local crafts rather than imported stuff,

What a great idea, Sandy!  That lovely big lounge of yours would be ideal for a display of craft work. Perhaps even photograph stuff and put a page on your website?
Card making is easy - and if you have ideas even better - that's where I fall down sometimes - my ideas need boosting from time to time.  With Christmas on the not so far horizon I need to get started.  Can we agree on a first meeting date soon?  Maybe some of us could do demos for the others?

I think maybe Cards and Christmas gifty stuff, we still have some overseas guests booked in but craft stuff is not perishable and I could display stuff to it's advantage, I originaly wanted to display artwork by local artsts, I thought a good way to decorate my house and a good chance to showcase local talent and also selling items hopefully, Carn't waite, maybe we should all get together very soon.....Sandy

can we make the 1st one next week we just need to decided on a day
I can host the 1st one and then go from there.

Is everyone happy to have sprogs attend?(they are welcome to join in) Am happy here but they need to be-able to 'see to them selfs' as i don't have little kids the youngest here is 18/19.

Monday is a little difficult for me (i can have it here on a monday but can't really go to other places, unless i can bring my step son (he is disabled and can be very loud at points so other people can find him to much sometimes) with me or he can go to his mums sometimes for the evening.

Only Sandy has been in touch so that just leaves Townie and Junior Townie.  Are you coming? We may get more people interested if we make it a later time too - 7pm certainly suits me better - is that OK with you Sandie?  I have made a start on some cards - localised ones.  Can I also suggest if anyone has done any crafts before, that they take a sample with them and some bits and pieces for the others to have a go?
If anyone wants to come round tomorrow send me a pm for directions.  It's supposed to be better weather tomorrow so hopefully not so much rain!

Hello all again, what time, I think I know where you are, I will look out for the Ducks!!! I bought the car when the weather had been dry for a while and as soon as it rains there are puddles on the floor and rain comes through the ariel point and the sun roof, I think I wasted my money but I had not had a car for ages and missed out on lot's of things...I can now take the dogs further afield and actualy see some of Scotland and I am very impressed!

Last call for Thursday craft group - 7 pm, off old Alloa/Clacks road, turn into Brucefield Crescent estate - cross railway line and turn right.  Ducks may not be visible as my new fence and shed should be up by then.  But the huge expanse of grass and the pink paintwork should help!  Oh, and the big dog barking might also give it away. ;)

Hello all, I am keen to get some craft stuff now and realy  hope lot's of people come and bring thier stuff and ideas. I used to make all sorts but Fluffywelshsheep has got lots of good stuff and advice. I had an idea to frame the paintings, charity shops or freecycle have cheap or free ones then you could paint pictures or mount stuff like in card making and fit them to the frames rather than the other way around. I may get some more air drying clay, I loved that but it is a bit messy but OK for my kitchen. I look forward to the next meeting and we can turn ourselves into busy little christmas elves, maybe ideas to make our own decorations as well as cards.
See you all soon I hope, Sandra

I've made a start on my Christmas cards.  I usually look on Lakeland and Papertole websites in their bargains section for craft items.  They're usually fairly cheap  I buy die cut decoupage sheets - you get three projects for 99p, add 50 blank cards for £5 and a couple of sheets of peel offs at 75p and you can make cards for less than 50p each.  Very quick to do - no cutting, just sticky pad the layers together and sticky pad to the card.
I'll bring the items along and you can try, Sandy.

7.00pm is fine with me, I think we could work in our kitchen, it's bright and warm, anyome else wants to pop in and bring there crafts, I still have not bought any stuff but been thinking about other stuff e.g. I thought you could make gift cards with a picture of say some apples and a recipe inside for apple pie etc (that one is a bit too simple) I always think we all may have food we cook that others would love to share, maybe what to do with all those apples or plumbs recipes for cutney or soup. I would like to recieve a card like that. Another idea using card making is small personal gift tags. I also love making my own christmas decorations but here I use lot's of fresh holly, ivy and other evergreen, maybe someone makes crakers, I used to be they cost me lot's finding presents to put in them, anyway, I am rambling....CU soon, Sandy...THE MORE THE MERRIER

Yes, I'll be there next week.  I got the info from the girls at the health centre, Helene and Irene.  Irene goes I think, and she said they do cards and scrapbooking but she didn't mention anything else.  Might just go along on 22nd to have a look see.  Apparently there's also a coffee morning in the Church Hall every Tuesday 10 till 12, £1 at the door.  Drs surgery is the place for the news ain't it?

Not sure where they got my information from, the last transaction was on E Pupz as I was looking at buying an adult dog, it was only £6.99 to join so I paid on my card, a few months ago I bought some other stuff on Avon and some from Wilkinsons but otherwise we buy loads on E Bay and that has been fine, not sure about the future though as it certainly warned me, we also had some very minor thefts from our B&B so I am a bit more careful now, what I worry about is you never know who you've got in, you carn't always go on instincts although they are a good indication when somethings wrong....I am getting paranoid now...See you soon, Sandy

I now have a selection of bodged up cards with all sorts of silver and glitter on them to hide the bit's I cut wrong. I very busy and the men that are in want evening meals, so I cook a bit more but still happy to break my insanity to get some wise advice from people who seem to have more patience than me.....I realy do not understand as I used to also teach crafts on a collage placement and make things with 6-7 year olds and always was organized and prepared, I am going backward's...See you on 15th, anyone welcome.
