I have a huge loin joint that I have been keeping for a big family do. I reckon it has been in the freezer, ( very cold setting - really decent freezer) for way over the recommended time - we've always ended up having something else, chickens, turkeys, gammon etc
What do you reckon...... Can I use it?

well i would things lurk in my freezer or a long time and still cook up fine!!!

Agree with Bloomer so long as its been well wrapped and you thaw it out correctly theres no reason not to use it, we're still eating sausages we had made in january by our butcher according to his freezer dates on the packs they should have gone by April and i ain't dead yet :fc:
Roast a la delia with prune stuffed apples :yum: Remember the drier the skin the better the crackling :yum: salivating think i'll get a leg out for sunday dinner this weekend.
Enjoy

 I'd better get this joint out now then. It is going to take ages to thaw! It is gigantic!

We have found joints at the bottom of the freezer 4 years old, nothing wrong with it. Enjoy your joint.

I wouldn't eat commercial pork (shop / supermarket) that'd been in the freezer that long, but if it was my own and frozen correctly very quickly after butchering I most certainly would. And in fact very recently did :yum:

...and there was me dithering like hell over it!

Don't blame you Mrs Snoodles......can't be too careful. Don't think we are a million miles away so if you need a second opinion feel free to give us a shout. Usually about around Sunday lunch time ;D

Joints that have been in the freezer that long can be difficult to light. :roflanim:
