Post by: Weaner on October 08, 2012, 03:38:14 pm
I believe somewhere on this site is a plan for a home made pig ark, could somebody please tell me the time and date of insertion in order I may find it ?
Thank You.

Although it's  :sunshine: today (and was yesterday too!), it's been such a  :gloomy: summer, I really thought this thread was going to be about building a Noah's Ark...  ::)

I've got one of those sitting about too  ::) But since the big boat is no more  :'( I think the little one as my dad calls it (it's not that little at 36ft  :o)) might be the next project for him  :innocent:
Least this one's on dry land

Thank You Karen,

Hiya Andy,
Do you mean to make them bigger ? Or are they not showing at all ?
I can email you the full size versions (for easier viewing) if you message me your email address

Hi Karen,

Very nice and simple!  I take it the roof is fixed to the floor though - does this give you any problems when you need to clean it out?

Hiya Womble,
The floors aren't fixed  ;) In fact, we only use the floors in winter in the Kunekune arks - I worry about the weight of my Large Black sows on a wooden floor  :-\ But it's been so wet this year I think they'll all be coming into the shed for winter  ::)
We lie down a few heavy pallets, nail a piece of heavy board to it (normally 18mm OSB board so that it's got slightly more grip than smooth board) and Bruce cuts it to size using his chainsaw (I'm not allowed to touch it  :innocent:) then the ark simply fits over the top. It's a fairly snug fit, but the arc can be flipped off to make cleaning a breeze  The plan for next year is to get some rubber matting to go over the floor too.
Old palletts........ gotta love 'em  ;)
