Title: Really? No polled Shetland ram anywhere in the Midlands?
Post by: Pedwardine on October 04, 2012, 08:42:13 am
I started a thread for my friend Julie around a month ago which , when she joined up, she took over. She was looking for a polled pedigree Shetland ram. She'd always hired her tups before but due to her supplier withdrawing services she was going down the road of having her own boy. She's got a couple of wethers sorted for company but she's having to get her ram from a flock up in Scotland and preparing to collect her new boy at Scotch Corner! Quite a trip as we're in South Lincolnshire! Is there really no-one out there with a tup she could buy? She's a great lady and she'd take really good care of him (hence the Shetland wether purchase) She is a member of the Shetland Sheep Society and I believe she's tried them too. If anyone can assist, please come forward  :fc:

It's the polled bit that will be the issue - most of us like our tups with horns.

Glad she's found one anyway

Up in Shetland we saw quite a few horned Shetland ewes too!
