I have just moved my ex batts into their newly refurbished run and shed, right next to Jamie and his three Light Sussex lassies. Will let them together in a few days if all goes well. I wonder what the chicks might be like if James does what 'e oughter? He's making a lot of noise welcoming them - or otherwise! Wish I could understand chicken language better! Might put a few to James to hatch for me.

we have a simular cross Some are just a paler ginger others have a neck of ginger and a white body.

I hope you've warned the Ex-batts whats coming! Mine looked so ruffled and shocked when they lost their virginity - I did feel sorry for them!
-
yes i would do it gently he could scare the poor girls.

Its funny isn't it - the hens never look impressed when Gordon gets frisky. The other hens aren't that bothered with him, but the ex-batts are like a little fan club trotting after him.

Well, they seem to have settled down next to each other, and the ranting has stopped. The ex batts are just standing at the gate looking for me every time I go to check on them. I'll keep the wire netting fence up for a few days to make sure the girls have all got to know each other. To be honest Jamie has and could again jump the fence between them if he wanted to so perhaps he is being a gentleman! ;D

Jamie will need a holiday soon, all those ladies to please!!!!!

Nah!! He thinks he's in heaven! One of my ex batts looks a little out of sorts though - she's eating and drinking, (and other things),normally but her crest is fallen and she just seems quiet. Perhaps he's been annoying her more than the others - she is the prettiest! lol
