Title: Pig Arks from B&Q
Post by: P6te on October 01, 2012, 10:29:28 pm
Well, I've heard it all now ... According to to-days newspapers B&Q are starting to sell Pig Arks. See:

Reading through some of the above links it could mark the start of a very worrying trend, their will be naive people looking to keep pigs without a clue what they are getting into.  I can picture pigs on the rampage flattening garden fences.

It seems that B&Q view it as a natural progression for people who currently keep a few chicken!!

OMG  ::) :o  Just read some of the comments posted below the articles nad it si so worrying, think B&Q are being bloody irresponsible, the trouble is there are a lot of pig keepers out there breeding rubbish and wily nilly desparate to shift piglets......where will it all end? i can see loads of pigs come autumn turning up in rescue centres..... when we go to shows people say oh cute baby pigs and then i tell 'em yeah lovely but they'll grow as big as her and point to the biggest sow at the show, it doesn't half shock 'em!

Don't worry, those articles seem to be from 2009 and searching  the B&Q website today doesn't show any actual pig arks so perhaps they didn't sell...

I can't remember where saw it first or who told me but I hadn't spotted the date either!!  :-[

I'm pleased it isn't current but the comments show just how naive Joe public can be!!
