Title: Chick breed identification
Post by: Draygor on September 30, 2012, 09:30:15 pm
Hi guys,

I wonder if any of you with much more experience than me could identify some chicks that I have just incubated please?

They were collected at random from the breeding pens at my local poultry provider.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Little dears :)  Could the first one be Maran and the third one, perhaps Legbar? No idea about the others, you'll have to wait a while to find out. They look good, sturdy chicks though.

Very cute  ;D

I'd agree with Sylvia's suggestions. Mind you, if you collected random eggs from my establishment at the moment, they'd all be crosses as I've undone my breeding pens and they're all running together.

Does your supplier do the same or keep breeds separate all year?

The first one could be a maran as it looks like mine that ive only recently hatched out but the third one also looks like it, but the third one could be a wellsummer? i think thats what they are called :) hope you find out.
