for goat hay.
Goat hay I thought? Wonder what goat hay is?
Well, I found out reading the advert. Apparantly this hay was got from round the edges of the field, so it was a bit damp when baled, and is a bit mouldy. It therefore is not suitable for cows or sheep ....but .....yes, its fine for goats!!!!Really? Would any goat owner feed this to their goats? Oh, if you are interested, it says make them an offer!!!!

ughhh not my goats.

Yea right ::)
I wouldnt feed it to ours and even if I did they wouldnt eat it
-
Would not feed it to anything
-
they must think every ones head buttons up the back :farmer:
-
ours would throw it at us , fussy buggers, the slightest bit of iffy hay and they will pull it down and make a bed of it :goat:
-
Same here - my goats wouldn't touch it with a barge pole - not a hope. They will only eat the best possible hay and even then are plenty ends up on the floor!!
On the other hand my sheep would probably eat it - but I wouldn't feed it.
-
I don't think they can have a lot of experience with goats, somehow. ;D

Oh, no, not my sheep. I find the cows very good at clearing up leftovers though ;D
-
I wouldn't even use it for bedding

That is really worrying! Not sure if mine would touch it or not. we've just changed supplier for hay and 3 out of 4 of them turned their noses up at it yesterday and that was lovely hay full of nettles and all sorts which they usually sell their grannies for ::)

They've obviously heard the old wives' tale that goats eat anything. We goat keepers know better, of course. Fussiest creatures alive I reckon.
Plums, it's probably just because it's slightly different from what they're used to. If you have some of the old stuff, I would mix it for a bit. They'll probably come round.

good plan. I'll do that.
Funny because my sheep are being fusspots - they come running for a hand ful of feed and when they get there they snoot it around and then walk off all afronted that I dared buy countrywide food instead of harrods.
