I know we hear about all kinds of animals getting abandoned :'( :'( :'(
Bruce has come home from work tonight with a baby budgie that someone put into a box and dumped in the middle of a car park at Palacerigg - it could have been run over or anything >:(
Poor wee guy is understandbly shaken, but seems to be okay, currently recovering under Bruce 'the bird man's' full attention ::) ;D
What's wrong with phoning the RSPCA/SSPCA or going to a rehoming centre ??? Even taking it and handing it in at a pet shop would be better than just dropping it like rubbish :'( :'( :'(

That is bad. We once rehomed 3 guinea pigs, and at least the owners had been semi organised- they left them in a shoebox on a vets doorstep early in the morning. At least that way they got proper treatment ASAP.
Poor budgie. So are you looking for a bird cage now?

Nah, we've still got the cockateil cage (couldn't quite bear to part with it after old Levi went) so this wee guy is spoilt rotten with a cage fit for a king ;D
It's funny, I've always been a believer than abandoned animals always seem to find the 'right' person to look after them - Bruce is definately that guy ! He had a pet baby pigeon at Palacerigg a few weeks back. Found it after it had fallen out a tree, took it in, nursed it back to health and was disgusted when he went back after a few days off and someone had released it cos it was doing so well ::) :innocent:
But if you've got a spare one DON'T TELL HIM - cos he'll take it, and he'll fill it ::) ;)
See you Sunday :excited: :excited: :excited:

To be fair, its possible they have just bought it and put it on the roof or something while they got in and then drove off. It doesn't actually sound as if it has been abandoned, they would just let it go out the window if that was the cae. i think you ought to put a notice in the local paper

There's not a pet shop for miles Linda :-\ Palacerigg isn't the kind of place you just pass, you've got to make a point of actually going there - so I'd think it's doubtfull. It's not the first animal they've had dumped there :'( (though I think it is the smallest :D) We'll keep her (deffo a girl, has a brown bit at the top of her beak and boys have blue according to bird man ::)) here to see if anyone claims her in the meantime. They've not got bird cages down there, only chicken runs :innocent:

Oh bless - how can folks do things like that :o I mean, it wouldn't have taken much hassle to get her re-homed ::) Thankfully 4H found her when he did  - especially with the weather being like it is at the mo :raining:

This story had a happy ending anyway. Good luck to the little budgie.
