Moving the ewes again!! 3rd time this year >:(  every time we put them down on the river field we get a flood warning! it's absolutely  :raining:  today and the river is almost over the banks, all we need is a high tide and the whole field goes under

Snap....had 60mm of rain today and more forecast for tomorrow. Just moved our sheep to our top field just in case. Our river is stupidly high...Not nice in North Wales today

Same in Lancashire!  I've got a good 30mm in the tub that's catching drips inside the kitchen window reveal  ::)

Same here in Northumberland, the river is lapping into the goat Paddock already so no doubt by morning it will be under water yet again  :(

Well, we were on an amber warning yesterday and i walked the dogs this morning and where has all the water gone? we had so much rain, but it's just dissappeared a few puddles about and one road near us is closed because the council can't be bothered to clear the drain under the bridge, so the whole thing floods for about 2 days.
The ground must really need this, cause most of the water has gone.
Don't like the clouds on the horizon though they look thundery :gloomy:

Into the second day of torrential rain.
It took 1hour, from leaving for work this mornin, to drive 800 yards in nose to tail traffic, finally get off at a junction that wasn't closed due to flooding, and turn back home.

All motorways have a stretch of road closed due to floods between home and work so I'm stuck!
No going to work means no pay  it was easier in the thick snow. At least the roads didn't get closed so 4x4'scould drive most places.

Will check travel alerts In a couple of hours and see if any change  :gloomy:

Took one of my colleagues nearly two hours to come from shildon to just south of middlesbrough this morning mammy shaz, the A1, A19 & A66 all have bits shut, don't think it will improve anytime soon by the look of the sky.
Take care winds getting up

Tried again to get to work.
A1 still closed, queues everywhere. Tyne bridge blocked. Rain getting very heavy again  :gloomy:
Given up. Escaped a few traffic jams and finally back home.......again!
 See what tomorrow brings.

You ok? Over the Border here eve though it spits horizontally at you all the time it's actually not that much water. River is quite full but hopefully will not come over into sheep field...
Just had one chicken house (empty) turned over in the night...

Sorry to hear of your travails, Mammyshaz.  On the bright side - you can use your unexpected home time to get some spinning done!   :D :knit: :knit:

sokel, that's real bad luck  :(  I hope your house isn't too badly flooded  :bouquet: and will wish for a cancellation for you at the Infirmary.  :fc:

Thanks Sally.  I should thank my lucky stars I've only had traffic trouble. I would be devastated if I had the flooding in my home or worry about livestock fields flooding.

The storm is nearly over, hope there's not too much lasting damage for you all. Tomorrow night should be better   :sunshine:      keep safe   :fc:
