Title: No paperwork!
Post by: ClaireQuinn26 on September 12, 2012, 04:24:18 pm
I thought I would buy two pigs in march to try and rear happy healthy pigs which we would slaughter and have great pork..... Unfortunate the guy I purchased didn't give me any paperwork and I only know I need it now when I am ready to have them slaughtered. Has anyone any suggestions ..... Can you rewind on the herd no etc.
We live in northern Ireland ....

You'll come under the new NI regs that came in in March

You'll need to go back to the purchaser and get some paperwork.  In NI the departing holding sends the form off.  If they didn't do one, then they should do one now, and obviously it is up to them to decide if they send a copy to their DVO, or claim that the previous one was lost - all you want is the form to put in your movement book so that your records are straight.  If you don't have a movement book, you'll need to start one - I presume you are registered to keep pigs, if not you'll need to do that as well which you should have done before receiving them.

Have PM'd you
