Title: Useful website re. backyard poultry
Post by: Welshcob on September 11, 2012, 12:58:51 pm
I found it looking in Veterinary Record today:

http://www.vicvet.com/index.php (http://www.vicvet.com/index.php)

She gives lots of useful advice for the complete beginner, a bit patronizing at times, but meaning good overall!

There's only one thing I'm not sure about, asking £15 for personalized poultry advice when most smallholders should already have their vet whom you can phone free of charge (mostly) and also what about "long distance" advice??? I thought a vet should see the sick animals!  ???  ::)

Otherwise useful read.

Thank you thank you!!!!!   That is just what Ive been after - a list of common ailments.  Ive had a chicken disease book on my amazon wishlist for a while, but funny enough no one seems to want to buy it for me - 2 christmases and birthdays have passed now!
