Found a nice load of blackberries today on a walk with the dogs
Didnt pick any as i didnt have any where to put them but think i will go back, its the kind of place where hardly anyone would ever go hence why i go there withthe dogs.
What is a nice simple thing to make with them to get me started
Rather like the idea of jam as the kids love jam on toast and if i can get them to help pick them and then turn them into something nice to eat it will be a good experience for all of us.
Also my daughter loves apple pie, but she has only had one from tesco or the likes, so was thinking of blackberry and aple pie.
Do you have any other suggestions, and maybe a nice recipe to either of the above

They're nice in a cheap whisky, and some sugar, left for a month, shaking every day, then strain and taste - yum

We dont get them up here as a wild plant, only in very sheltered gardens. My friend gave me two shoots from hers which I am nurturing and building special beds for in the shelter of my poly. They will be treasured ::) The Whiskey idea sounds good but me thinks it will be a while yet for me!

You can do it with any cheap spirit and any soft fruit. Sloe gin is the obvious when, but then let your imagination run riot and your taste buds enjoy :excited: :excited:
