I have to say I think runner beans are fab!! They grow so fast, have a nice pretty flower and produce enough beans that we get sick of them after a while!
-
Courgettes... They are the only veg that has done really well this year, which is surprising as I forgot about them most of the time :D
-
 runner beans ...... especially this summer. Only thing that has really grown successfully. ::)
Even the courgettes are a disaster :o . No courgette soup or lasagne :'(
-
I love growing potatoes :spud: :spud: :spud: ;D Digging them up is better than prospecting for gold
I also love growing and eating runner beans, but ours are a disaster this year - flower buds there now but frost forecast so I doubt we'll get anything.......... My brother is going to send me some of his

Any salad crops. I love to pick them and make a meal straight from the garden. They just taste so much better.

same here! Although I had to tickle mine to help pollination :D - no bees ??? !

Forgot about potatoes, I love digging them up too and they're so tasty. We've grown Kerrs pinks this year and I'd forgotten how tricky they are to boil.
-
Another potaoes fan. I grow mine in old mineral tubs It is the only thing we have managed to grow here, but hopefully a polytunnel will appear before long so we can grow other exiting things. :excited:.
-
cucumbers for me. unsuprisingly. but digging for spuds is a joy.
-
not this year for me, all had blight, njot much left :'(
-
Squashes for me. I love butternuts / turks turbans / crown prince - all tasty roasted and all make great soup. I love trying new varieties. Uchiki Kuri is a good looking /tasting one for me just like a big orange. :excited:
-
French beans
or salad leaves
or maybe squashes
or perhaps swiss chard
or possibly tomatoes (yes, I know they're fruit really).
Oh I give up. I love growing them all. :roflanim:

Anything that actually grows in any year becomes favourite... ;D This year it's courgettes, broad beans, and now the runner beans seem to be coming on nicely.
-
I prefere the climbing french beans to runners (I do grow both) as they are more tasty when forgotten
-
Love growing pumpkins & squashes but they're rubbish this year unfortunately :'(
Mandy :pig:

It's got to be courgettes this year - they are one of the few plants that have done ok this year other than broad beans ::)
They also have lovely, bright yellow flowers that cheer me up - a bit like daffodils in the spring ;D
-
It has to be peas and beans (any kind) because the children love picking them and eating them raw, there and then :)
I do enjoy unearthing spuds too though ;D
