We have just got 3 weaners (gilts) who have a lovely paddock and a fab bed in the corner of a small barn. I was advised to spread their food in the barn outside their bed to prevent them from pooing in the barn and to encourage them to poo in the paddock, but they don't seem to want to play this game! Any ideas about how to encourge them to poo outdoors?? ???

In my own personal experience (limited) I have found that they don't really cotton on to the poo outdoors concept until they are a little older.

You've got the bug my friend!! Just imagine the miserable life they would have had in a commercial piggery! My four boys just lovwe our Tamworths, and they're breeding stock, so no messy trips to the abatoir with the favourites....now their offspring...we'll they'll be gracing the plate!
