Title: Varroa treatment
Post by: Beewyched on September 03, 2012, 11:38:17 pm
Well, I'm certainly not going to get any honey this year - thanks to all the  :raining:  I've been feeding my bees over much of the "summer"  ::)
Located in the west of the Central Belt (Scotland).  Has anyone started their varroa treatments yet?  I;ve been using Apiguard for the past 2 years - should I use it again this year or use another brand (thinking of possible  resistance)?
Any feedback most welcome  :bee:

I have a document that might help. See the attached.

Thanks Sally   I've saved the document onto my PC - a bit concerned about the 15 degrees min temp for the 2-weeks treatment time though - not exactly had that over the last few months  :raining: :gloomy: :raining:

I put Thymovar strips on two weeks ago to start treatment, I was advised not to use apiguard or apilife var on our polyhive. Was pleasantly surprised that neither colony had a heavy drop.

Not heard of that - will need to google methinks - thanks for the tip Andrew
What was the reason for not using the others?  Was it specific to your type of hive?

Andy can you give me a link as to where you purchased your polyhive & furniture from  ?
