By buying your 2 GOS for eating, you've encouraged someone else to breed a rare breed.  You're going to get fantastic meat and know exactly what went into it and how it grew.  You can't beat it    Well done.
If you take more next time, you can sell halves to other people (who will love it), get your half free plus perhaps a little 'salary' for all your efforts.  Win win win.

Funnily enough, I am kind of looking forward to eating the lamb...getting impatient in fact!  But the pigs....

It is my first time too.

This sounds soooooo familar. Must have been the day yesterday as I took 4 of our 8 lambs in :'(
Walking down to the paddock yesterday evening to give the remainder some pellets just wasn't the same.
Betsy & belinda (2*Large Blacks) will be off in the next couple of weeks & then the remaining 4 lambs will go.
It will be very quite then....until next year when we can start all again  ;D
