:garden: Here (southern Scotland) it's forecast to be 5 degrees C tonight. That's cold enough to give tomatoes, chillies etc a nasty shock. I'm off to close up the polytunnel early and hopefully give it time to build up a little condensation which will help slow down heat loss by radiation.
Check the forecast for your area :cold: . It's not even the end of August

Oh that's bad news for my struggling peppers in the poly. :'(
What's going on with the weather this year?? It has been rediculous trying to judge when to plant or where to keep tender plants.

Just down the A1 from mammy shaz and we have very clear skies and its bloody cauld :gloomy: fear for my pumpkins out in the open, half closed the polytunnel doors so all in there should be ok :fc: bit windy too defo from the North, autumn is on its way..........................

bl...y hell, thats rough for this time of year, hopefully therell be enough wqrmth in the soil to hold them over. good luck.

We had the slightest of frosts this morning. A bit of a shock to my system let alone the tomatoes! :cold:
-
Certainly a challenge for everyone - maybe an alert should be posted to warn of frost. People could loose crops after all their hard work and of course a poor summer in the UK.
We are due 3 cooler days and hopefully some rain - enough time for me to skim (render) an outside wall before the temperatures rise again on Monday.

Frost here this morning, but touchwood don't think was heavy enuff to knock anything out, the pumpkins looked ok as i passed them on way to feed pigs. It is defo Autumn here this morning so much for the last day of summer!

Just up the road fowgill, blimey it's cold this morning. Jack Frost is here already :o
In my thermals to sort hens and walk dogs :cold: we definitely missed the summer, the ground still hasn't dried out from April showers which have just got heavier as the months passed.
Never mind, we haven't had a hosepipe ban anyway :D

Think I'd better buy some fleece for my outdoor tomatoes. They've just started ripening. Lovely and :sunshine: here today, albeit a bit cloudy. Actually got some washing on the line.

Just the smallest hint of frost on the grass this morning, beautiful and bright :sunshine: Raining again now however :raining:
