We currently sell our meat fresh over a weekend - but if we don't sell everything we freeze it for later.
As business is picking up we are increasing our output, but as its not always guranteed we are thinking of keeping a stock of our meats frozen.
Would you expect to pay less for frozen over fresh?

quite a few farm shop do sell frozen for less, especially if it's not yesterday's...I find that meat loses quality when frozen and thawed.
Hope that helps. :&>

I probably would a bit, yes, if only because I would find it harder to assess the joint when its an icy lump and so I would feel I was taking the risk that all the chewy tough ones had been frozen. Which isnt at all the case 99% of the time but also because I wouldnt be able to use it straight away, or thaw but then decide I needed to refreeze for later. And the slight texture thing too.

I agree it does not taste as good which is why I am hesitant - but its better than waste
I guess it depends how it is explained too
Thanks

I would probably expect to pay a bit less too. I don't really have a reason why, other than going by prices in supermarkets. Frozen is usually cheaper.

I don't usually buy frozen because it behaves differently. But I occasionally freeze myself if I bought some fresh at a very good price. For Goulash, etc. it doesn't matter much but I would not really buy frozen steaks for frying. Poultry I find dry after freezing. :&>

I would pay the same for a prepared dish made out of meat - a home made ready meal as you can see it is exactly the same and the texture issues dont come into it. So maybe thats an option -added value!

Cheaper for frozen but slightly more for prepared dishes.
