Title: New Arrivals
Post by: HappyHippy on August 28, 2012, 04:18:10 pm
Our little Kunekune sow (that used to be Beewyched's  :-*) farrowed this morning
7 altogether, but unfortunately 2 stillborn/laid on (not sure what happened as we weren't there but I might pm them before Greyshill come tomorrow to find out  :-\) but the other 5 are all doing really well.
Here's a quick photo of a ginger gilt (think she'll be staying put  ;) and there's a cracking spotty gilt too (ditto with the staying put  ;) :innocent:)
Enjoy  ;D

Aww!  So cute!

I'm a teensy bit jealous of the different colours, love my Lops but the piglets are a bit samey  :P

Oh what little crackers - exactly the same colourways as the last Harriet/Tommy mating    such a shame about losing the 2  :'(
I might just call across after Lanark on Friday  :excited:  Pleeez Karen  :-*  can I, can I  :excited:
  :pig:

Course you can mrs, you don't even have to ask  :-* Kettle is always on
We'll be over in Lanark on Friday at the sale anyway, so will most likely see you there - but you know what my wee ones are like  ::) we might not be there for that long, so a visit for a natter and a piglet hugging sesh sounds good to me  :excited:

Gemma - I know what you mean about samey  ;) I have Large Blacks too, and though they are adorable with their big floppy ears, it's not quite the same visual appeal as the spotty ones (hence why I've got my OSB too  ;) very pretty piglets  :pig: )

Thanks Sally  :-* How are your ones getting on ? Bet they're getting tasty looking big  :yum: ;)

Course you can  :eyelashes:

Bloomer, the more the merrier  ;) You know how chaotic it can get here - I'd never notice extra folk  :roflanim:
As to herd size  :innocent: they're only little  ;) and they don't eat much  ;)  :innocent:
It might be a case of "oh these, no, I've had them for ages didn't you notice them"  :roflanim:

The Kunekune society is good - here's a wee link to some info http://www.britishkunekunesociety.org.uk/articles/kunekunekeeping.aspx (http://www.britishkunekunesociety.org.uk/articles/kunekunekeeping.aspx) or if you're ever passing Lesmahagow way, feel free to get in touch and come and meet mine in person.

Thanks Alison - looking forward to meeting yours at the Smallholder show (and you too obviously  :-*)  :excited:

You've got a great mix of colours there. They're lovely. Shame about the two that didn't make it.

Will you be at the sale then ? Can you remember the way to mine ? I'll pm you my mobile number just incase.
See you Friday
