Hello. Have just got internet access after being denied by BT for 4 years (apparently we just live too far from the exchange to get broadband, so have gone mobile!). Anyway, have a small farm in North Devon, cattle, sheep, pigs, poultry, goats, owls, ferrets, etc, etc - lots of dogs and cats, but thankfully no kids - don't know if I'd be able to manage them as well!!
Always on the lookout for advice on various different things, and happy to offer advice if I can. Hoping that I can soon identify some white hens that I have. Will have to take a photo and see if anyone knows what they are!!
Looking forward to hearing from you all.
Catherine.

Welcome to the forum, Catherine. I've never been to Devon, but my late husband extolled its virtues regularly - he was from Yealmpton.

Hi welcome, what breed pigs?

Hi Catherine, Welcome.
I am very new to the forum, but finding loads of fantastic advice on here.

I am based near the village of Knowstone, which is near South Molton. The breeds that we have here are as follows: Golden Guernesy Goats, Dexter Cattle, Berkshire Pigs, Lincoln Longwool Sheep, Various poultry including Light Sussex, Buff Orpington, Cuckoo Maran and a number of hybrids, and the owls are European Eagle Owl (1 of), Bengal Eagle Owl (1 of), African Spotted Owl (1 of), and 13 barn owls!
Hope this answers all the above queries!
Lovely to get such a warm welcome, especially as a newcomer!
Thanks.

Hello. I have a 12 year old GG Cross and she is so beautiful and loving. I rescued her about 10 months ago and for a while before she came here she and her mate had a pretty awful life. When they arrived they were miserable and very poorly, but she was still so trusting and loving, despite the way she had been treated by other humans. It is a great gift every time I go out and see her, she just adores cuddles and attention (not to mention the Kit Kat she gets every night before bed time!). The pair of them are doing brilliantly now, so well that in April we introduced 2 BT. Kids as company for them and now all 4 of them are a tight family unit, she is definately mum now and Toggi is dad! :goat:
