Lost our cockerel, he was find ,overnight he went very red in the head,
what is this?
-
Hi,sounds like he may have had to much sun, have your birds got plenty of shaded areas so they canto get out of it.
Overheating can be a big killer especially with the sudden heat wave a lot of the country has had over the past week.
Graham.

Not a good week, lost three ducks to the fox, found a hen drowned in the duck pond,
then Mr cockerel.
Heading to a poultry sale, Sunday, to stock up again.
I was told Mr. may have had a heart at tact maybe all the ladies were to much for him.
Ihope i am not buying Mr foxy more dinner.

Our first cochin cockerel was said to have had a heart attack due to his ahem, workload. I don't recall him being very red in the head, he just went breathless and died on me within minutes.
