I seem to have 2 hens with feather mites - one is almost bald and has been for a while, the other just starting to show signs. Somehow the rest of the flock are looking OK. Its not a normal moult as the feathers are literally snapping off and their skin is reddening.
I've been using Diatom with no effect. Have eradicated (pretty much) the red mite and following some research have just found that some hen keepers have successfully used nippon ant powder as it contains permethrin. Has anyone used it on here please?
