I have been given a couple of plastic milk churns which are a godsen din as much as storing 5 litres at a time BUT do I keep them in the fridge or on the worktop?! Probably a REALLY stupid question but I am no stranger to them :innocent:

Never seen a plastic milk churn, and doubt5 litre one would fit in our fridge!!
I have tried keeping goats milk in plastic milk containers, and didn't think it kept too well, and then the container had a strong smell even when thoroughly washed out, so wonder if the churn would be the same?
I have glass kilner jars and keep my milk in the fridge in those.

We keep our milk in plastic jugs in the fridge, and they get Milton-ed when a bit whiffy. Daily milking goes into (5ltr) food-grade white lidded plastic buckets (lid snaps on), and we sometimes store those in the fridge.
However it is better to have several smaller volumes of milk containers - milk cools down quicker after milking. If left out for too long it will go off quite quickly.

Why did I never think to Milton my whiffy 2-pinters?! Thank you Anke (again!!) :bouquet: I've been binning them and then begging on FB for new bottles from people ::)
